Agora Debate Club London
Six debates a year gives it an appointment feel, and the before-and-after vote makes you want to see whether the room can be moved next time.
What it is
A pub-room debate club where you argue the side you actually believe. The room votes before and after, and the winner is whoever moved opinions, not whoever shouted loudest.
When
Around six debates a year, at rotating venues. Dates on their site.
Where
Holborn / Vauxhall
Who it’s for
People who miss proper disagreement, enjoy a structured argument, and can share a table with someone they just opposed.
First time
You can just listen with a drink; nobody makes you speak. Tickets include a free drink at the venue.
